Waar het allemaal begon

Foto:

Toon Hermans, Ramses Shaffy, Liesbeth List, Reinhard Mey, Jacques Brel.

RAMSES, THE SONGS

Whenever Ramses and I saw each other again, his greeting would be: "Hello, dear boy, are you back!" We recognized each other when we sat together at the piano, when we marveled, when we both played our pranks, when we cried together and cried with laughter at the world around us. With my solo, "Ramses Shaffy - the songs," I pay a musical tribute to the work of the artist of life, Ramses Shaffy. Exuberant, understated, and filled with anecdotes, I'll transport you through fields of passionate love, but also along canals in nights filled with loneliness and longing. And then, for a moment, it's as if Shaffy were wandering through the room again...

SHAFFY AND SURROUNDINGS

This is the sequel to "Ramses, de liederen." For fifteen years, Guus had intense encounters with Ramses Shaffy. They sat together at the piano, sang, and shared stories. It wasn't just Shaffy who inspired Guus to write his own work. The special collaboration with Toon Hermans is also in his blood. And then there's Herman van Veen, Paul van Vliet and Reinhard Mey, who once introduced him to songwriting. This program is therefore an ode to the "greats of theater and their writers."
